Haredi Battalion 'Yonatan' Concludes Six-Month Tour in Southern Lebanon
Fighters from the "Yonatan" Battalion of the Hasmonean Brigade have completed a six-month operational tour in southern Lebanon, engaging Hezbollah infrastructure and defending Israel's northern border. The soldiers are now heading into a period of rest and retraining, after which they will return to operational duties.
During their deployment, the battalion operated under the command of Brigades 300 and 679, conducting missions across various sectors of southern Lebanon. Their activities included locating and destroying enemy weaponry and infrastructure, uncovering underground shafts, and identifying Hezbollah rocket launchers aimed at Israeli territory.
The upcoming retraining period will feature a battalion-level exercise designed to enhance combat readiness and maintain operational standards. In addition to military training, the soldiers will participate in study sessions and meetings with rabbis, aimed at reinforcing the Haredi identity of the brigade's fighters.
