Haredi Soldier in Netzah Yehuda Battalion Reunites Emotionally With Mother After Year Apart
A Haredi soldier known as M, serving in the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, shared his emotional reunion with his mother Esther after a year apart during the grueling beret march. M, who immigrated alone to Israel from abroad and enlisted in the IDF, described feeling isolated before the meeting as other soldiers were greeted by their parents. His mother arrived three hours late, and their embrace brought both to tears.
M praised the religious character of the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, highlighting its mandatory daily prayers and Torah study, calling it "the best in the IDF and the world." Although he initially wanted to join the Golani Brigade, he found his place in Netzah Yehuda and expressed deep happiness with his service.
Looking ahead, M plans to remain in Israel after his discharge in about a year and a quarter, firmly stating he will not return abroad. He encouraged others to enlist and serve properly, describing his own enlistment as a tremendous privilege and experience. The story was revealed during a heartfelt interview on Channel 14.
