The Israeli Defense Forces' Givati Brigade concluded an eight-month combat mission in South Lebanon this week, operating both within and beyond the Blue Line. The brigade's battalion combat team, reinforced by an armored battalion from Brigade 188 and an engineering combat battalion, conducted operations in the villages of Al-Khiyam, Bint Jbeil, north of the Litani River, and the Beaufort ridge.
During the mission, Givati fighters destroyed hundreds of terror infrastructures, eliminated hundreds of Hezbollah militants, and located more than 1,000 weapons. The operation included the discovery of rocket launchers hidden inside Lebanese homes.
The mission's completion ceremony took place yesterday at Camp Fiylon, attended by Northern Command Chief Major General Rafi Milo, Division 162 Commander Brigadier General Sagiv Dahan, Division 36 Commander Brigadier General Yiftah Nurkin, Givati Brigade Commander Colonel Netanel Shamka, along with other commanders and soldiers.
At the ceremony, Major General Milo praised the brigade, stating, "Givati Brigade represents values of engagement, mission commitment, and bravery. You are heroes, and the achievements in this campaign are thanks to you. On behalf of the residents of the north, thank you for changing the security reality for many years ahead and providing them with great security."
