Givati Brigade Platoon Commanders Reflect on Key Successes Against Hezbollah in South Lebanon
Platoon commanders from the Israeli Givati Brigade spoke with i24NEWS from southern Lebanon, sharing their experiences and emotions following successful operations against the Hezbollah terrorist organization. Captain A, an armored platoon commander in Battalion 401, described crossing the Litani River as a historic moment, recalling how it was long considered an impassable barrier. "Seeing my platoon cross and thinking 'Who can stop us?' is an unforgettable image," he said.
Captain S, a reconnaissance platoon commander in the Givati Brigade, highlighted the intense close-quarters combat they encountered in Lebanon, contrasting it with two years of persistent fighting in Gaza. He noted that in every village they entered, they faced the enemy at very close range.
Captain A from Battalion 607, who lives in northern Israel, expressed a personal connection to the fighting, saying, "I really felt like I was protecting my home. Standing on a ridge and telling my soldiers 'That's where I live' was an incredible feeling." These reflections underscore the significance of the brigade's recent operations in the region and their impact on the soldiers involved.
