IDF Northern Command Chief Praises Givati Brigade for Transforming Security in Lebanon
The commander of Israel's Northern Command, Major General Rafi Milo, commended the Givati Brigade for significantly altering the security landscape in northern Israel and southern Lebanon during a ceremony marking the end of their combat mission. The event took place at Camp Filon and was attended by Northern Command leaders, division commanders, and brigade officers.
The Givati Brigade completed an eight-month operational deployment in southern Lebanon, initially conducting defensive missions along the border before shifting to offensive operations in areas including Al-Khiyam, Bint Jbeil, north of the Litani River, and the Beaufort Ridge. Throughout the campaign, the brigade destroyed hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites, eliminated hundreds of Hezbollah militants, and located over 1,000 weapons caches.
In his remarks, Major General Milo praised the brigade's dedication, courage, and effectiveness, stating, "You are heroes, and the achievements in this campaign are thanks to you." He also expressed gratitude on behalf of northern Israeli residents, emphasizing that the brigade's efforts have secured a safer environment for years to come.
