Beitar Jerusalem Coach Aims for First Win Amidst Defensive Woes

Ahead of their upcoming match against Bnei Sakhnin, Beitar Jerusalem's coach Almog Cohen acknowledged the team has faced difficult times and is currently without points in the Premier League, with only a single goal scored. Cohen emphasized the critical need for a defensive improvement, stating that the team must become stronger defensively and avoid conceding goals easily, while also generating more scoring opportunities.

"We've been through some not simple days, but we have a very important game ahead of us and we are preparing for it in the best way to achieve victory," Cohen said. He noted that in the previous game, the team barely created any chances, which concerned him. "We worked on both the defensive game and on ways we can be more dangerous in attack. Everyone understands the situation and the magnitude of our responsibility at Beitar Jerusalem well. It is clear to us that a very important game awaits us tomorrow."

Looking ahead to the match at Dosa stadium, which will be played without Beitar fans, Cohen expressed optimism, recalling a previous season's victory there. "Dosa is always a difficult field, but we also came there last season and won. We want to achieve the first victory, gain confidence from it, and return to playing the football we know how to play."

Cohen stressed the high level of commitment required from his players, stating that "currently even 100 percent is not enough." He explained that in the previous game, the team started well, but paid the price for the first instance where a player did not perform at 100 percent. "Tomorrow we will need to do everything at 1,000 percent, defend together as a team and from there bring the victory."
