Beitar Jerusalem Coach Aims for First Win Amid Defensive Concerns

Beitar Jerusalem, still without a point in the Premier League and with only a single goal scored, is set to face Bnei Sakhnin on Monday evening. Coach Almog Cohen addressed the team's recent struggles and outlined the focus for the upcoming match, emphasizing the need for a breakthrough victory.

Cohen acknowledged the team has gone through difficult times but stressed the importance of the upcoming game. "We need to get back to defending as a team throughout the entire match, not just in specific situations," he stated. "We need to be a stronger defensive unit, not concede goals easily, and simultaneously create many more chances."

The coach expressed concern over the team's lack of offensive opportunities in the previous game, noting that work has been done on both defense and improving attacking play. He highlighted the players' understanding of the current situation and the responsibility they hold at Beitar Jerusalem.

Looking ahead to the match at Dosa stadium, which will be played without Beitar's fans, Cohen described it as a tough venue but recalled a previous season's victory there. "We want to achieve the first win, gain confidence from it, and return to playing the football we know how to play," he said.

Concluding his remarks, Cohen called for maximum commitment from his players. "In a less good period, you need to perform with much higher intensity. Right now, even 100 percent is not enough," he explained. "We will need to do everything at 1,000 percent tomorrow, defend together as a team, and from there bring the win."
