Beitar Jerusalem Coach Aims for First Win Amidst Defensive Concerns

Beitar Jerusalem coach Almog Cohen acknowledged the team has faced difficult times as they prepare to face Bnei Sakhnin on Monday, seeking their first win of the season. The team currently has no points and only one goal scored in the Israeli Premier League.

Cohen emphasized the need for improved team defense throughout the entire match, not just in specific moments. "We need to be a stronger team defensively, not concede goals easily, and at the same time create many more chances," he stated. He expressed concern over the lack of chances created in the previous game and highlighted work on both defensive solidity and offensive threat.

Looking ahead to the match at Dosa Stadium, which will be played without Beitar fans, Cohen noted that it's always a tough venue but expressed confidence, recalling a win there last season. "We want to achieve the first victory, gain confidence from it, and return to playing the football we know how to play," he said.

Cohen stressed the high level of commitment required from his players, stating that "even 100 percent isn't enough right now." He pointed to the previous game where a lapse in full commitment led to a penalty. "Tomorrow we will need to do everything at 1,000 percent, defend together as a team and from there bring the victory," he concluded.
