IDF to Conduct Large-Scale Defense Drills in Eilat and Arava
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will commence a large-scale exercise tomorrow, led by the 80th Division, in the Eilat and Arava region. The drills will simulate surprise attacks and infiltrations into Israel via air, sea, and land, testing the defense of communities and the readiness of forces. The exercise involves cooperation with the Israel Police and Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical services.
The drills are designed to enhance operational capabilities and integrate lessons learned from recent combat and events. Increased movement of forces, aircraft, and naval vessels is expected in the area starting today. The exercise was scheduled in advance as part of the training plan for 2026.
