Man Drowns Off Unsupervised Tel Aviv Beach, Fights for Life

A man in his 30s was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after nearly drowning at an unpatrolled beach in Tel Aviv on Saturday. Bystanders pulled the unconscious man, who was not breathing and had no pulse, from the water to the shore. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics and EMTs performed CPR on him at the scene before transporting him to Ichilov Hospital, continuing resuscitation efforts en route.

"We arrived with the ambulance on the promenade near Tel Baruch Beach and drove south until we reached an unpatrolled stretch of beach where the man was pulled out by civilians who saw him in the water," said MDA EMTs Shimon and Yosef Dahan. "He lay on the sand unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing. Together with the paramedics and additional MDA rapid response volunteers, we provided him with medical treatment and performed advanced resuscitation efforts. We placed him in the intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital while continuing medical treatment, his condition critical."

The incident occurred on a section of coastline not designated as an official swimming beach, highlighting the dangers of swimming in unsupervised areas.
