Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident; Driver Arrested

A man, approximately 45 years old, was killed on Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Route 535 near the moshav of Porat in the Sharon region. Emergency services arriving at the scene found the man unconscious and suffering from severe, multi-system injuries. After medical examinations, they were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.

The police immediately launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident and began efforts to locate the suspected driver. According to a police statement, the driver allegedly left the scene of the incident after the collision. Following an intensive search, a woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of driving the vehicle involved.

She was taken in for questioning, and police are examining all aspects of the incident and the sequence of events leading to the fatal crash. The initial report was received by MDA's emergency medical services at 6:56 PM. Paramedics who arrived at the scene found the victim without a pulse or breathing. MDA paramedic Samer Mansour described the severity of the injuries, stating, "The victim suffered multi-system trauma and lay unconscious, without a pulse or breathing. We performed medical examinations, but he showed no signs of life, and we could only pronounce him dead."

The police investigation is ongoing, focusing on the circumstances of the collision and the suspicion that the driver fled the scene.
