Man in His 30s Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident Near Negev Bedouin Community
A man in his 30s was killed in a hit-and-run vehicle accident in an open area near the Bedouin settlement of Harbat al-Azaq in the Negev on Sunday. Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical technician Alaa Al-Huzail reported receiving a call about three pedestrians hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, they found the man unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and suffering severe multiple injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other men, aged 31 and 21, were also injured in the incident and were evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in moderate condition with limb and back injuries. Authorities suspect the driver was transporting illegal workers (Shabakhim). This incident follows another fatal road accident last week in Kiryat Ata, involving two motorcycles and a car, where a 53-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene.
MDA continues to respond to serious traffic accidents in the region, highlighting ongoing road safety concerns. Investigations into the hit-and-run are underway.
