One Killed, Two Injured in Hit-and-Run Involving Illegal Residents in Negev Bedouin Area

A hit-and-run accident occurred on Sunday near Shomriya in the Negev Bedouin area, where a vehicle struck three illegal residents. One victim, a man around 30 years old, was critically injured and later pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Soroka Medical Center for treatment.

The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, including the possible involvement of the driver in transporting the illegal residents. Officers from the Negev district are actively searching for the driver and the vehicle involved.

Magen David Adom emergency medic Alon Haziel reported arriving at the scene to find the critically injured man unconscious and without vital signs, confirming his death on site. The two other injured victims suffered limb and back injuries but were in stable condition when evacuated.

This incident highlights ongoing risks faced by illegal residents in the Bedouin communities of southern Israel and the challenges law enforcement faces in addressing such accidents and related illegal activities.
