Palestinian Man Killed and Two Injured in Hit-and-Run in Negev Bedouin Area
A Palestinian man in his 30s was killed and two others were moderately injured in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday afternoon near Kharbat al-Azaq in the Negev Bedouin area. The driver fled the scene, prompting police to launch a manhunt on suspicion of a hit-and-run. The incident was reported at 14:58 to Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services, who found the man unconscious and without vital signs, confirming his death at the scene due to severe multiple injuries.
Two other men, aged 31 and 21, sustained injuries to their backs and limbs and were evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in moderate condition. An MDA paramedic described the scene, noting the severity of the victim's injuries and the urgent medical response for the other two.
Police stated the victims were likely unauthorized Palestinian residents near the Shomriya area along the seam line. Road accident investigators from the Negev district opened an inquiry into the circumstances, including the driver’s possible involvement in transporting illegal residents. Authorities are actively searching for the driver and vehicle involved.
