Suspect Neutralized After Opening Fire on Police in Netanya
A suspect opened fire on a police force in the Kiryat Hasharon neighborhood of Netanya on Saturday evening. Police officers and combatants neutralized the suspect, and no one else was injured. The suspect was documented with a long weapon prior to the shooting, and the motive remains unclear.
Large police forces from the Central District were deployed to the scene and surrounding areas. The commander of the Central District, Superintendent Amir Cohen, was en route to the location. Residents reported hearing gunshots and expressed fear, with one resident describing people running towards their homes.
Magen David Adom (MDA) received a report of the shooting at 7:07 PM. MDA paramedics confirmed that the shooter was neutralized by police forces and stated that there were no additional casualties at that time.
