Maccabi Tel Aviv Players and Fans Pack Food Parcels for Needy

Maccabi Tel Aviv players and thousands of fans gathered at the "Lago" halls in Rishon LeZion for the "Achim Lesemel" association's and Maccabi Foundation's traditional food packing event. Player Gabi Kaniovsky participated alongside fans in packing 2,850 food parcels and hundreds of shopping vouchers, which will be distributed across Israel ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday.

The event marks the culmination of a ten-day fundraising drive by fans, who, along with other supporters and the general public, raised NIS 825,000. The aid is intended for families facing financial hardship, lone soldiers, Holocaust survivors, elderly individuals living alone, and others in need.

Following the packing, fans will undertake the distribution of the parcels throughout the country. The "Doing Good in Yellow" project, which runs twice a year before Rosh Hashanah and Passover, is celebrating its 14th year. The entire initiative operates on a volunteer basis, and over the years, tens of thousands of food packages have been packed and distributed to individuals and families requiring assistance, irrespective of their team affiliation.
