Maccabi Tel Aviv Players and Fans Pack Food Parcels for Needy

Players and fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv participated in a traditional food packing event organized by the "Brothers for a Symbol" association and the Maccabi Foundation. Held at the "Lago" halls in Rishon LeZion, the event saw the assembly of 2,850 food parcels destined for distribution across Israel ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday. Among the volunteers was player Gabi Kanikowski.

The packing event concludes ten days of fundraising efforts by fans, who, along with other supporters and the general public, raised NIS 825,000. In addition to the food parcels, hundreds of shopping vouchers will also be distributed as part of the initiative.

The aid is intended for families facing financial hardship, lone soldiers, Holocaust survivors, elderly individuals living alone, and others in need. Following the event, fans will undertake the task of transporting and distributing the parcels nationwide.

This project, known as "Doing Good in Yellow," takes place twice a year, before Rosh Hashanah and Passover, and is now in its 14th year. The entire initiative operates on a volunteer basis, and over the years, tens of thousands of food parcels have been packed and distributed to individuals and families requiring assistance, regardless of their team affiliation.
