Israel to Cut Gasoline Prices by 50 Agorot Per Liter
The Israeli Ministry of Finance announced on Thursday a reduction in gasoline prices, effective midnight on Monday, August 7, 2026. The price of a liter of unleaded 95-octane gasoline will decrease by 50 agorot, bringing the new price to 7.75 shekels.
This decision follows approval from the government's legal advisor, Gali Baharav-Miara, who on Wednesday evening consented to Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's request to lower fuel costs. The reduction will be achieved through a temporary decrease in the "blue" tax levied on fuel prices.
Consequently, the price at the pump will drop from the current 8.25 shekels per liter to 7.75 shekels. Economic expert and financial advisor Nabil Tawri discussed these developments on Channel Hal.
