The IDF said its Air Force struck and destroyed the launcher from which some of the rockets were fired at Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon. The strike was carried out shortly after the launches as part of what the military described as efforts to remove threats to forces on the ground.
Earlier in the day, the Air Force intercepted several rockets fired by Hezbollah toward the area where IDF soldiers were operating in southern Lebanon. The army said no alerts were activated, in line with its policy, because the fire was directed at the troops’ operational zone and not at Israeli communities.
The IDF said that after identifying the source of the fire, it carried out a rapid, precise strike on the launcher, destroying it. The military said the action was intended to prevent further launches and reduce Hezbollah’s fire capabilities in the area.
In addition, the army reported that during the day it identified a suspicious vehicle in the same operational area in southern Lebanon. Troops first fired warning shots toward it, but when suspicion remained, a strike was carried out in the area to eliminate the threat.
