Maccabi Tel Aviv will play in next season’s UEFA Conference League qualifiers after missing out on the Europa League berth, which went to Beitar Jerusalem. The Tel Aviv club will enter the competition in the second qualifying round, skipping one stage, and will be seeded, giving it relatively favorable opponents on paper throughout the early rounds.
Among the notable possible opponents are Swedish side IFK Göteborg, Hungary’s Debreceni VSC, Ukraine’s Polissya Zhytomyr, and Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia. In total, there are 43 possible opponents before the draw is narrowed, including teams that will advance from the first qualifying round.
To reach the league phase, Maccabi Tel Aviv must survive three rounds, two qualifying rounds and a playoff. The draw for the second qualifying round is set for June 17.
Maccabi’s first match will be played on July 23, with the return leg a week later on July 30. The qualifying campaign will end on August 27 with the playoff return match.
