Beitar Jerusalem will find out on Wednesday, June 17, who it will meet in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. The draw comes after the Israeli runner-up is set to skip the first qualifying round and enter the competition directly in the second round, with matches scheduled for July 23 and July 30.
Because Beitar is unseeded, it faces a difficult draw. The most prominent possible opponent is Ajax, the Dutch club featuring Oscar Gloukh, which reached Europe after advancing through the Dutch playoff. Other strong possible opponents include Braga, Panathinaikos and Partizan Belgrade.
In total, Beitar has 43 possible opponents before the draw is narrowed down, including clubs that could emerge from the first qualifying round. To reach the Conference League group stage, Beitar must survive three rounds in all, two qualifying rounds and a playoff round.
The qualifying campaign will end on August 27 with the second leg of the playoff round. The article lists the full pool of confirmed possible opponents, among them Copenhagen, Gent, Rapid Vienna, Ludogorets, Steaua Bucharest, Raków, Lugano, AEK Larnaca, Başakşehir and others, plus several clubs that could join from the first round.
