Reserve Soldiers at Gush Etzion Base Attacked by Swarms of Bees and Wasps
An unusual incident is unfolding at the Herodian base in Gush Etzion, where a reserve force from Battalion 8553 has been suffering from a severe infestation of bees and wasps over the past few days. The insects have begun entering the soldiers' living quarters, resulting in multiple soldiers being stung and experiencing localized swelling. Consequently, soldiers are confined to their buildings to avoid further stings.
According to one female soldier who spoke to N12, some soldiers have allergies, and their epinephrine auto-injectors are not readily accessible. Despite numerous appeals made to the company commander and relevant brigade officials, the problem remains unresolved. The IDF stated in response that the issue is being handled. Military sources indicated that bee traps were placed at the base earlier in the week, but the swarm's nest has not yet been located, and the incident continues.
