Bee and Wasp Infestation Forces Soldiers to Shelter at Gush Etzion Base

Soldiers at a military base in Gush Etzion are reportedly being forced to shelter in buildings due to a severe infestation of bees and wasps. Reserve soldiers from Battalion 8553, operating at the base, have reported the ongoing problem, with several already suffering stings. The insects have begun entering the soldiers' living quarters, prompting concerns for those with allergies. "There are soldiers here who are allergic, and they have one EpiPen that is not accessible," one female soldier told N12.

Despite assurances from the military that the issue is being addressed, soldiers claim that appeals to their commanders have not yet yielded a solution. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that bee traps were placed at the beginning of the week, and efforts are underway to locate the nest and resolve the situation. However, the problem persists on the ground, with soldiers continuing to be stung and confined to structures to avoid further attacks.
