Bee and Wasp Infestation Forces Soldiers to Shelter on Gush Etzion Base

Reservists stationed at a base in the Gush Etzion area are facing an unusual crisis as the area has been overrun by bees and wasps. Several soldiers from Battalion 8553 have already been stung by the insects, which have begun entering living quarters, forcing soldiers to seek shelter indoors. The situation has led to soldiers "just locking themselves in buildings" to avoid further bites, according to one reservist speaking to N12. Concerns have also been raised about soldiers with insect sting allergies, with reports of only one EpiPen being available and inaccessible. Despite repeated appeals to company commanders and brigade officials, the problem remains unresolved. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the situation is being addressed. Military sources indicated that traps were set at the beginning of the week, but the hive has not yet been located, preventing a complete resolution to the infestation.
