Freedom Flotilla Organizers Plan Gaza Voyage Next Month
Organizers of the "Freedom Flotilla" announced on Wednesday their intention to sail to the Gaza Strip in October. The new mission will include stops in Spain, Portugal, and Italy before the flotilla continues its journey to Gaza. According to the organizers, the international mission aims to confront the Israeli blockade on Gaza.
During its stops, the flotilla plans to rally local communities to pressure their governments to take action against Israel. Demands include halting arms and energy shipments that contribute to ongoing Israeli operations, ending diplomatic and military cooperation with Israel, and imposing sanctions.
This announcement follows a series of maritime journeys organized by the coalition in recent months. In June and July, the coalition's ship "Handala 2" sailed around Scandinavian countries, stopping in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. This month, the ship "Kate" sailed from Bristol, UK, and made stops in Ireland, Germany, and France.
