IDF Destroys Another Kilometer of Gaza Tunnels Amid Ongoing Operations

Israeli forces have destroyed an additional kilometer-long underground tunnel in northern Gaza in recent weeks, as part of ongoing efforts to locate, clear, and dismantle remaining terror infrastructure. The operation, conducted by the Northern Brigade under the command of Division 99 and in cooperation with the Yahalom special engineering unit, aims to reduce the ability of terror organizations to utilize such subterranean networks.

Since the implementation of the ceasefire, Israeli forces have neutralized over 26 kilometers of underground tunnels east of the Gaza border. These tunnels and subterranean infrastructures were identified and disabled to prevent future operational use by militant groups.

The Northern Brigade is actively engaged in multiple locations in northern Gaza, with a primary mission to secure the area and eliminate terror infrastructure that could pose an immediate threat to Israeli forces and communities. The operations involve combat soldiers, engineering forces, and specialized units like Yahalom, which is expert in detecting, investigating, and destroying underground structures.

Following the identification of the latest kilometer-long tunnel, it was investigated before being neutralized through engineering actions designed to render it unusable. The IDF released footage of the operation and the destruction of the tunnel. Forces are operating in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, and Southern Command forces remain deployed to counter any emerging threats.

This effort is part of a continuous campaign by the IDF to reduce the remaining underground infrastructure in Gaza, particularly in areas where forces are actively operating under existing agreements. The IDF stated that operations will continue based on operational developments and the need to remove any immediate threats to forces and Israel.
