IDF Destroys Kilometer-Long Hamas Tunnel in Northern Gaza
Over the past few weeks, Israeli forces from the Northern Brigade of Division 99, in cooperation with the Yahalom unit, have destroyed a one-kilometer-long underground tunnel in northern Gaza. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to clear the area east of the "yellow line" border fence of terror infrastructure.
Since the start of the ceasefire, Israeli forces have neutralized over 26 kilometers of underground tunnel systems in the eastern Gaza Strip. The IDF stated that its forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
The Yahalom unit specializes in engineering and counter-tunnel warfare, utilizing advanced technology and methods to locate and neutralize underground threats.
