IDF Neutralizes Over 26 Kilometers of Gaza Tunnels

Israeli forces operating in northern Gaza have destroyed an additional kilometer-long tunnel network in recent weeks, as part of ongoing efforts to clear remaining terror infrastructure. The Northern Brigade, under the command of Division 99 and in cooperation with the Yahalom special engineering unit, has neutralized over 26 kilometers of underground routes east of the Gaza border since the ceasefire took effect. These tunnels and underground facilities were located and disabled to prevent future use by terror organizations.

The Northern Brigade is active in multiple locations in northern Gaza, with a primary mission to secure the area and eliminate terror infrastructure that could pose an immediate threat to forces and Israeli communities. The operation involves combat engineers and special units like Yahalom, which specializes in identifying, investigating, and destroying underground structures. Engineering operations are conducted to render these tunnels unusable.

The most recently destroyed tunnel, approximately one kilometer in length, was discovered and investigated before being neutralized. The IDF released footage of the operation and the tunnel's destruction. Forces are operating in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, and Southern Command forces remain deployed to counter any developing threats.

This action is part of a sustained IDF effort to reduce the remaining underground infrastructure in Gaza, particularly in areas where forces are actively operating under existing agreements. The IDF stated that forces will continue to operate based on operational developments and to remove any immediate threats to forces and Israel.
