Israel Selects Insurers for Massive State Employee and Military Vehicle Fleet Deal

Israel's Ministry of Finance has announced the results of a major procurement tender, selecting insurance companies to provide comprehensive coverage for the state's vehicle fleet, including military personnel. The tender, considered the largest in Israel's auto insurance sector for 2027, was overseen by the Accountant General's department. The winning insurers are The Phoenix, Migdal, and WeSure, who will collectively insure over 70,000 vehicles. The annual value of this contract is estimated to exceed 400 million shekels.

A significant new aspect of this arrangement is the inclusion of career military personnel in the government insurance plan. This expansion is expected to add thousands of new policyholders who will benefit from preferential terms tailored to current market conditions. The updated program aims to leverage the government's purchasing power and integrate advanced competitive and digital tools.

Key features of the new policies include a deductible mechanism that adjusts based on driver behavior, offering better terms for safe drivers. Policyholders with a clean claims history will be eligible for a special coverage that waives deductibles entirely. The new policies also incorporate expanded roadside assistance services and options for daily coverage for young drivers, along with other customized benefits.

Eli Bitan, Senior Deputy to the Accountant General and Chairman of the Tender Committee, stated that the salary division consistently works to improve service conditions for state employees. He noted that the growing number of insured individuals and the high demand from companies to participate in the tender demonstrate the model's success in both service quality and economic savings for the state budget. He thanked the participating companies and congratulated the winners.
