Alon Ben-David Warns U.S.-Iran Deal Could Elevate Tehran and Weaken Israel

Channel 13 military analyst Alon Ben-David warned that the agreement between Iran and the United States could weaken Israel over the long term. He said the deal marks a major turning point for Israel and future generations, and that it represents a reversal in the Middle East, where Israel had been the strongest regional power with American backing.

According to Ben-David, the arrangement would clear the way for Iran to become the most significant power in the region. He argued that once Iran is able to resume oil exports, it will earn hundreds of billions of dollars, after being unable to sell its oil until now. He also said the deal would release $24 billion in frozen funds and provide Iran with $300 billion through the agreement with the United States.

Ben-David said that resources of that scale would allow Iran to rebuild and strengthen its regional proxies, including Hezbollah and the Houthis, and arm them again. He added that the deal would significantly bolster Iran and place it on a path toward a nuclear bomb.

“In addition to that, we have a more vengeful regime, with a high motivation to exact revenge and with nuclear capability,” he said. “We may get from this deal not only a stronger Iran but a nuclear Iran, once it decides to turn that capability into a bomb.”
