Ohad Hamo, the Arab affairs commentator for Channel 12 News, said he is deeply worried about the emerging agreement between the United States and Iran. Speaking on Radio 103FM, he argued that the reported terms could mark a historic and troubling shift for Israel's security situation.
Hamo said, "I am very worried about the emerging agreement," and added an unprecedented warning, "Perhaps for the first time Israel is losing sovereignty over its borders." He said the most serious concern is the impact on Israel's freedom of military action in the region.
According to Hamo, if Hezbollah grows stronger, "under the emerging agreement we will not be able to act." He contrasted the current deployment with what he expects later, saying, "The IDF is there now, but there will be a withdrawal."
He concluded that Israel has been pushed aside in the negotiations and reduced to a secondary player. "We have been pushed aside and turned into supporting players, this is a situation Israel has never been in," he said.
