Zvika Yehezkeli Warns Trump Is Leaving Israel Exposed in Iran Talks

Arab affairs analyst Zvika Yehezkeli issued a sharp warning this morning after reports of a developing U.S.-Iran agreement, calling it a "real warning" for Israel. He said the emerging deal could threaten Israeli security interests and described the situation as an acute strategic danger, even worse than the atmosphere before the last war.

Yehezkeli argued that any Middle East agreement must be judged not only from a Western perspective, but also by how the other side reads it. He cited the Islamic precedent of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, which he called "a deceit agreement," and said that in the region agreements are also measured in terms of benefit, achievement, and the sense of victory. In his view, Tehran is presenting the latest developments as proof of superiority over Israel and as a success for the Iranian regime.

He referred to reports spread by Pakistani sources saying the emerging framework could include economic relief for Iran, the release of frozen assets, lifting U.S. sanctions, a regional ceasefire, and a demand that Israel withdraw from Lebanon, while uranium and nuclear facilities remain inside Iran. He said the Iranian regime sees this as the realization of its idea of "justice," under which anyone who fights Iran must pay, compensate, and apologize.

Yehezkeli also attacked U.S. President Donald Trump, saying the American administration is rushing toward a deal. "Trump is racing to an agreement, abandoned us, threw Israel aside, his partner in war, and caused enormous damage," he said. He added that Iran continues its missile project and anti-Israel rhetoric, while Israel is being pressed to leave Lebanon, a move he said would deepen Tehran’s sense of victory. Even if some reports do not match the final text exactly, he said the direction resembles the 2015 nuclear deal. Yehezkeli urged Israel not to accept limits on its security freedom of action and ended by warning that with the start of the Hebrew month of Tammuz and the period of the Three Weeks, "great constrictions are coming upon us."
