Roman Sorkin Says Maccabi Tel Aviv Offer Was Irrelevant

The Israeli national basketball team has officially been eliminated from contention for the World Championship after a 85-70 loss to Latvia. Despite four games remaining, the team's defeat sealed their fate.

Following the loss, player Roman Sorkin expressed disappointment and shame, stating, "We should have looked better and come better prepared. I can only speak for myself, but this is not how we wanted to finish." He emphasized the team's need to perform at a higher level, adding, "We need to play better, I'm talking about myself right now and not criticizing anyone. I have no excuses, only the fact that we must play better and appear differently in games."

When asked about a potential new contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Sorkin described the offer as "irrelevant at the moment." He clarified that there are currently no ongoing negotiations, and the previous offer was not suitable. Sorkin reassured fans that he has a three-year contract with Maccabi and will remain with the club, stating, "Life is full of lessons, I have learned and will learn from this. I have a contract for three years and there is nothing more to say."
