Rabbi Kanievsky Urges Support for Orphaned Couple Facing Wedding Hardships

Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach Kanievsky recently issued an urgent and unusually emphatic blessing for those who assist a young couple preparing for their wedding under extremely difficult circumstances. The groom is an orphan who has lost his father, while the bride was displaced from her home after it was destroyed and is currently being cared for by a charitable family. Both lack parental support and financial means as they approach their wedding day.

Rabbi Kanievsky described the couple’s plight, emphasizing the bride’s virtues as a God-fearing, modest, and righteous woman with good character. He expressed confidence that they will build a faithful home and raise children who will become great Torah scholars. Raising his voice, the rabbi stressed that the bride has absolutely nothing, highlighting the severity of their situation.

The rabbi also promised spiritual rewards for those who contribute, citing the principle of divine measure-for-measure repayment. He blessed supporters with protection from theft and destruction in their own homes and abundant blessings and success from God. The wedding expenses amount to 420 shekels, and a fund has been established at Kupa Ha'ir charity under number 5797 to collect donations for the couple’s needs.
