Rabbi Stern Urges Public to Support Orphan Bride and Groom Facing Wedding Hardships
A deeply moving case of a bride and groom, both orphans without parental support, has prompted a heartfelt public appeal for assistance ahead of their wedding. The couple, described as experiencing 'quadruple orphanhood' since both have lost their mothers and fathers, face the daunting challenge of starting their married life without any family or financial backing. This situation has drawn the attention of Rabbi Shmuel Eliezer Stern, a senior rabbinical authority who knows the family personally and has issued an urgent call for help to cover their basic wedding expenses.
Rabbi Stern recounted the painful reality: the bride, who grew up in a boarding school, will walk down the aisle completely alone, without parents to accompany her, marrying a groom who is also an orphan. The emotional weight of their isolation has moved many, and a dedicated fundraising campaign by the charity Kuppat Ha'Ir is actively seeking donations to provide the couple with essential support. The campaign requests contributions of 400 shekels, symbolizing 100 shekels for each of the four parental losses the couple has endured.
Rabbi Stern concluded his appeal with a blessing, emphasizing the spiritual significance of aiding an orphaned couple in marriage. He stated that those who contribute will "buy their world," nullify harsh decrees, and bring great blessings to themselves and the community. Organizers hope to reach their fundraising goal soon so the couple can celebrate their wedding with dignity and relief from financial strain.
