Rabbi Kanievsky Urges Public to Support Orphan Couple Ahead of Wedding

Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach Kanievsky recently revealed a sensitive story involving a young couple preparing to marry, both of whom have faced significant personal hardships. The groom is an orphan, having lost his father, and will enter his wedding day without a father to walk him down the aisle or assist with preparations. The bride, also from a difficult background, was taken in by a family known to Rabbi Kanievsky after losing her own home. Despite the family's quiet support over the years, the couple currently has no financial means to cover their wedding expenses.

In a heartfelt public appeal, Rabbi Kanievsky described the bride as a devout, modest, and righteous young woman with good character traits, emphasizing the couple's intention to build a faithful home and raise children who will become great Torah scholars. He stressed the urgency of community support, noting that those who contribute will be blessed with prosperity and protection from misfortune. The Rabbi underscored that helping this couple is a merit that will be rewarded by divine providence.

A dedicated fund has been established through Kuppat Ha'ir charity under number 5797, with a suggested contribution of 420 shekels to assist with the wedding costs. Rabbi Kanievsky called on the public to complete the support started by the family that took in the bride, enabling these two orphans to marry with dignity and joy.
