UEFA Fines and Suspends Ticket Ban for Beitar Jerusalem Over Fan Misconduct
Beitar Jerusalem has been penalized by UEFA for fan misconduct during their Europa Conference League qualifying match against Austria Vienna, which they lost 2-1. The club was fined a total of €32,750 and received a suspended ban on selling tickets to their away supporters for one European match.
The primary offense involved racist and/or discriminatory behavior by fans, leading to a significant portion of the fine, €30,000, and the suspended ticket ban. This ban is conditional for two years, meaning any similar offense within this period could result in its activation. Consequently, Beitar's fans will be permitted to attend upcoming away games in European competitions for now.
Additionally, the club was fined €2,750 for the use of pyrotechnics in the stands during the same match. Although Beitar Jerusalem's European season has concluded, these sanctions address past violations.
