ראש מועצת בנימין ויו"ר מועצת יש"ע, ישראל גנץ, הגיע לזירת הפיגוע הקשה שאירע במעיין סמוך ליישוב נווה צוף, בו נפצע תושב באורח קשה מאוד מירי מחבל. גנץ התייחס לאירוע ולמצוד הנרחב המתנהל אחר המחבל באזור.

"תושבים באו לקראת יום כיפור לטבול במעיין, ומחבל חמוש ב-M16 פתח עליהם באש", סיפר גנץ בזירה. הוא הוסיף כי מדובר באירוע קשה, אך הדגיש כי כוחות צה"ל, המשטרה, השב"כ ומג"ב פועלים במצוד מתוחכם אחר המחבל.
