איראן הגישה לארצות הברית הצעה להפסקת אש, אשר הועברה דרך מתווך קטאר, כך דיווחה רשת אל-ג'זירה. מזכיר המועצה העליונה לביטחון לאומי, מוחסן רזאי, מסר כי טהרן דורשת הפסקת לחימה בכל החזיתות, שחרור נכסים איראניים קפואים והסרת המצור הימי.

בנוסף, רזאי הדגיש כי פעולות עוינות מצד ארה"ב וישראל מעניקות לאיראן בסיס לשקול יציאה מאמנת אי-הפצת נשק גרעיני. עם זאת, טהרן עדיין מחויבת לפתווה של מנהיג הקהילה האיסלאמית המנוח ואינה משנה את דוקטרינת הגרעין שלה.
