משטרת ישראל פתחה בחקירת אירוע ירי שהתרחש הערב (יום ד') באשקלון, במהלכו נפצע גבר בן 30 באורח אנוש. צוותי מד"א שהגיעו למקום העניקו לו טיפול רפואי ופינו אותו לבית החולים ברזילי, שם נקבע מותו. כוחות משטרה גדולים הוזעקו לזירה, והחלו בסריקות אחר החשודים בירי, תוך איסוף ראיות ועדויות. נסיבות האירוע וזהות החשודים טרם ברורות, והחקירה נמשכת.
