Body of Man Found Washed Ashore in Bat Yam, Police Investigate

Early Friday morning, the body of a man estimated to be around 35 years old was discovered on the Sea Plus beach in Bat Yam after washing ashore. The man’s identity remains unknown. Bystanders who were exercising at the beach spotted the body and immediately alerted emergency services. Police and rescue teams arrived promptly to secure the scene and begin their investigation.

Volunteers from ZAKA, a rescue and recovery organization, were dispatched following the report. They assisted forensic investigators at the site and ensured the deceased was treated with respect. Medical teams confirmed the man’s death at the scene before the body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination.

The Bat Yam police station, part of the Ayalon district, is leading the inquiry. Forensic and criminal identification units are collecting evidence, and authorities have stated there is currently no suspicion of foul play. The investigation continues to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This tragic event adds to a recent series of drowning accidents in Israel and abroad. Notably, a one-and-a-half-year-old toddler recently died from drowning in a private pool in Ashkelon, and last week, Yaakov Israel Yedid, 35, from Pisgat Ze'ev, drowned at a beach in Limassol, Cyprus.
