חייל צה"ל ירה ברגלו של פלסטיני מהכפר פקועה, הסמוך לחוות זית בגלבוע. האירוע תועד בסרטון שפורסם על ידי פלסטינים, בו נראה אחד מהם קורא לצלם לתעד את האירוע לפני שהוא ניגש לטפל בפצוע. הדבר מעלה חשד כי הצילום היה חשוב יותר מהטיפול בפצוע, ואף מעלה אפשרות של "מארב מתוכנן". הכפר פקועה, המוגדר ככפר עוין, ממוקם על הקו התפר, במרחק של שני קילומטרים ממעלה גלבוע ושלושה קילומטרים מגן השלושה.
