IDF Soldier Shoots Palestinian in Leg Near Gilboa Farm Amid Confrontation
Palestinians released a video showing an Israeli soldier firing a shot that struck a Palestinian man in the leg near the Gilboa mountain region. The incident occurred when dozens of Palestinians from the village of Faqu'a allegedly approached a shepherd from the Zait Gilboa farm, who was in a designated grazing area. Three soldiers stationed at the farm for the holiday, along with the farm owner, intervened to assist the shepherd.
According to a statement from Zait Gilboa farm, the Palestinian crowd continued to approach with stones in hand, prompting the soldiers to fire into the air. The crowd allegedly continued to advance to within a few meters of the soldiers. The battalion commander for the sector was reportedly on the line during the incident.
Following authorization, soldiers fired a shot aimed at the leg of one of the Palestinians, causing the crowd to disperse. Additional military forces arrived at the scene. The video released by Palestinians appears to corroborate the shooting of the Palestinian man in the leg as he was being moved away from the farm's grazing land.
