IDF Soldier Shoots Palestinian Man in Legs During West Bank Confrontation
A video released on Saturday, September 12, shows an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier firing at the legs of a Palestinian man standing in front of him. The footage captures the Palestinian looking to his left before three shots are heard. The Palestinian Red Crescent evacuated the injured man and transported him to a hospital. The IDF stated that the incident occurred following a report of a "confrontation" between Israeli citizens and Palestinians near the village of Faqu'a, east of Jenin in Samaria. "IDF soldiers at the scene fired into the air and towards the Palestinian," the army said. The IDF has not claimed the Palestinian posed a threat to the soldiers. "The incident is being investigated by commanders, and the findings will be transferred for review by the relevant authorities," the military added. Faqu'a village is situated directly on the border with the Gilboa region, near Kibbutz Ma'ale Gilboa.
