Palestinian Injured by IDF Fire During Clash Near Settlement
An Israeli military force opened fire on Palestinians during a confrontation near the settlement of Ma'ale Gilboa in the West Bank on Saturday, resulting in one Palestinian being injured. The incident began when several Palestinians reportedly gathered around a shepherd in grazing lands near the "Zait Ba'Gilboa" outpost, throwing stones at him. In response, soldiers fired into the air as part of a suspect apprehension procedure, and then fired towards the lower body of one of the suspects. A security official confirmed that one suspect was hit and evacuated by the Red Crescent ambulance. Initial findings suggest the shepherd was in the grazing area and left it after the stone-throwing. The incident is under investigation by the commander of the Menashe Brigade. The IDF stated that soldiers at the scene fired into the air and at a Palestinian, and that the event is being investigated by commanders, with findings to be reviewed by relevant authorities. The clashes occurred near the Palestinian village of Faqqua, within the Menashe Brigade's area of operation.
