Clashes Erupt Between Palestinians and Settlers in Hebron Amid Israeli Civilian Gunfire

On Sunday morning, Palestinians reported that 10 people were injured in the al-Jaabari neighborhood of Hebron during overnight attacks by settlers. A military source told ynet that clashes broke out in the Jewish settlement in the city, involving stone-throwing from both sides and an Israeli civilian firing shots into the air. Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that two Palestinians, aged 60 and 46, were shot, and eight others were beaten. Several Palestinians were detained by the Israeli army during house searches, including the 46-year-old who was reportedly shot.

Simultaneously, in the village of Beit Einun, settlers allegedly attacked a family, injuring over 20 Palestinians, with 12 arrests made by the IDF. Reports of confrontations also emerged from Tarkumia, where soldiers reportedly raided homes and assaulted residents. Additionally, Palestinian sources claimed that forces raided a house in the al-Mantara area north of Hebron, detaining a man around 20 years old.

Just a week prior, Palestinians in southern Mount Hebron reported multiple settler attacks involving stone-throwing, shootings, physical violence, and attempts to set homes on fire. Jewish residents in the area countered that some clashes began with Palestinians throwing stones at Jewish shepherds, and that online footage only shows part of the incidents. Over the past weekend, Palestinians accused settlers of torching property in Wadi al-Rahim near Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. Local resident Mohammad Abd al-Rahman Jabrin described repeated attacks on his family, including an incident around 2:30 a.m. when settlers arrived carrying containers of flammable material intending to burn down their home.

Jewish residents disputed these claims, offering alternative explanations for some recorded events. One video from the outskirts of Idna showed Israelis beating a Palestinian while a soldier restrained him, but the farm owners stated the incident began when Palestinians threw stones at Jewish shepherds grazing nearby. The military responded by pursuing the stone-throwers and asked the shepherds to assist in identifying suspects near Idna village.
