An active-duty IDF soldier on leave was detained on Saturday on suspicion of shooting a 9-year-old Palestinian boy in the West Bank village of al-Mughayir, located in the Binyamin region. The incident occurred on Friday evening when authorities received a report of a child injured by gunfire to the shoulder. Israeli police launched an investigation and, through intelligence efforts, identified the suspect as an IDF soldier who was off duty at the time. According to the investigation, the soldier arrived at the outskirts of the village accompanied by other Israeli civilians. A confrontation ensued between them and local Palestinians, during which the soldier allegedly fired his personal weapon, injuring the child. The soldier's weapon was confiscated as part of the ongoing inquiry.
