IDF Investigates Palestinian Report of Fatal Shooting of 12-Year-Old in West Bank Refugee Camp

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are investigating Palestinian reports that a 12-year-old boy was fatally shot by Israeli forces during an operation in the Askar refugee camp near Nablus. According to Palestinian sources, the boy died from his wounds at a hospital in Nablus. Simultaneously, the IDF is probing an incident involving the raising of an Israeli flag on a mosque minaret near Tulkarm, which has sparked controversy. Palestinian social media reported that Jewish extremist activists from the Susya outposts attacked near Wadi Raham, setting fire to heavy engineering equipment and spray-painting slogans. Videos circulated show several dozen individuals arriving and leaving the scene on foot.

The IDF stated that the military force dispatched to the area conducted searches, but the perpetrators fled minutes before their arrival. The incidents have heightened tensions in the northern West Bank region, with the IDF continuing investigations into both the shooting and the provocative flag-raising event.
