משרד הבריאות הישראלי הודיע על תקלה בבדיקות גנטיות לגילוי מוטציית BRCA1, הקשורה לסיכון מוגבר לסרטן השד והשחלות. לאחר בדיקה של למעלה מ-90 אלף תוצאות, התגלו כ-100 דגימות שעלו חששות כי התוצאה שלהן עלולה להיות שלילית באופן שגוי.

התקלה, שגרמה לבדיקות לתת תוצאות שליליות שגויות, טופלה על ידי חברת "גמידור", כך לפי הודעת משרד הבריאות. מעבדות הגנטיקה יצרו קשר עם כל מי שעלול להיות מושפע מהתקלה, ויזמינו אותו לבדיקה חוזרת במידת הצורך. שאר הנבדקים אינם צריכים לפנות למעבדות.
