Three Illegal Immigrants from Hebron Caught in Golan Heights
Israeli police and border guards arrested three illegal immigrants from Hebron in the northern Golan Heights on Tuesday. The arrests occurred at a cluster of cabins in the community of Ramot. Two suspects, aged 19 and 35, were apprehended while traveling in a utility vehicle and found to be in Israel unlawfully.
A third suspect, a 29-year-old from Hebron, attempted to flee by hiding in a sewage pipe. Police opened the pipe and called for him to exit, but he did not respond. Fearing for his life, rescue services, including firefighters and Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics, were called to the scene. After repeated calls, the suspect emerged exhausted and injured and was taken into custody.
The detention of the three men was extended, and on September 7, indictments were filed against them. They are charged with entering or residing in Israel illegally and obstructing a police officer in the line of duty.
